Adam Tillotson, the 6’ 5” forward/center of the Whitney Point Eagles, is gearing up for what promises to be an exciting senior year of basketball.  Tillotson’s strong, big-man play already has the attention of five schools, including upstate NCAA D-III schools Cortland, Oswego, and Hilbert, and this season he is looking to keep on improving and draw the attention of more schools.

An all-league player the past two seasons, Tillotson averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds per game last season.  For a second straight year Tillotson was a part of the August BCANY tournament, a growing hotspot for college coaches, making this year’s all-tournament team after a successful stint with Southern Tier.  Tillotson has also been rounding out his game playing AAU for the Southern Tier Rage.  When asked what college or pro players he tries to model his game after, he replied, “Any player that plays as hard as they can all the time.”

After playing both football and basketball, in 10th grade Tillotson stopped playing football to play AAU hoop. The former tight end gave up the gridiron because basketball “is more fast-paced.”  He has stuck with basketball ever since and is trying to add to his game.  Right now he describes his strengths as inside play and rebounding on both ends of the floor, and this year he is hoping to improve his outside shot.

Whitney Point was the eight seed in the Section IV bracket last season, and Tillotson is looking forward to help them push farther this year.  When asked about goals for the season, Tillotson said, “Win the division and try to go as far as we can in sectionals. See what we can do.”

Upstate Scouting thanks Adam Tillotson for taking the time to talk with us, and we wish him and Whitney Point the best of luck this season.
