Normile averaged 15 points a game last season for Susquehanna Valley and nabbed Sixth Team Class B All-State honors, as well as being named to the STAC All-Conference team.
“He’s really just a great athlete,” said Normile’s coach Mark Ward in a recent interview with Upstate Scouting Service. “His athletic ability, great speed and great jumping ability are his best attributes on the court.”
Ward told us that Normile has been receiving lots of attention at the D3 level, but is still wide open about where he wants to play in the future and wants to play at the highest level possible. Ward also said that Normile would be willing to look into junior colleges and prep schools, if they would help him academically.
At 6’8’’ 205 lbs., Normile’s versatility has been one of his top strengths in high school. As well as the ability to score down low, Normile possesses the ability to play on the perimeter. “I think he has the capability of playing the wing.  He was a point guard at the modified and freshman levels, even though he was 6’3’’,” said Ward. “His work ethic is unbelievable. He is always playing, always training, always online looking for drills, stuff like that.”
Over the summer, Normile has been playing with some high level AAU programs, such as the Westchester Hawks and Syracuse Nets.
Normile will have one more season at Susquehanna Valley to impress scouts and get his name out to college coaches. According to Ward, Normile and the team have high expectations for next year. “We want to repeat as division champs. Our number one goal is to win the section and make it into the state playoffs.”
Upstate Scouting thanks Coach Ward for answering our questions and extends the best of luck to Brendon Normile and Susquehanna Valley in the future.
